Trustees

The Trust Deed provides for the nomination of three to seven Trustees who are required to administer the Trust to best achieve the objectives of the Trust Deed. Currently the Trustees are:

Richard Boyd

Rick lives in Wanaka.  He spent his career as a fisheries biologist, with a focus on fisheries management, fisheries policy and fisheries assessments, initially in Canada and then in New Zealand until his retirement a few years ago.  He spent 9 years as a Councillor on the Otago Fish and Game Council from 2015 to 2024.  He is an avid angler and fly fisher and enjoys outdoor activities including skiing and biking.

Michael Barker M.Sc (Hons) PhD.

Mike is a retired marine scientist having spent most of his working life in the departments of Zoology and Marine Science at the Otago University. He was Head of the Marine Science Department from 2000-2006.  

Mike has a strong interest in the biology and ecology of marine and freshwater fish and invertebrates, and in the conservation of New Zealand's natural resources.  He is a keen angler and an Otago Fish and Game Councillor (2018-present) and the Otago delegate to the New Zealand Fish and Game Council.

Victoria May

Vicky is a strong advocate for enhancing local habitat and fisheries and a founding Trustee of the Clutha/Matu-Au Sportsfish and Habitat Trust.  Vicky is also an active life member of the Teviot Angling Fishing Club and a Councillor on both the Otago and Central South Island Fish and Game Councils.

Adrian McIntyre

Adrian is a seventh-generation farmer at Waikoikoi, running Point Farm with his wife Lesley,  daughter Kirsten and son Adam.  He has a proud record of creating and enhancing wetlands on his property, providing vital habitat for waterfowl and improving water quality.  Adrian is a lifelong angler, and game-bird hunter and is currently Chair of the Otago Fish & Game Council.  Adrian is committed to protecting habitat, improving public access, and ensuring that future generations can enjoy trout fishing and game-bird hunting in Otago.

Andrew Gray

Manager - Environment and Land, Contact Energy.  

Morgan leads Contact Energy’s Environment and Land team, driving environmental performance, land management, and ecological projects across New Zealand.  One focus is on protecting and enhancing freshwater ecosystems to achieve biodiversity outcomes, while working collaboratively with iwi and communities so nature can thrive and people can enjoy it for generations to come.

Morgan Trotter

Morgan is a keen angler and hunter and has spent much of his career monitoring freshwater resources throughout Otago. He has worked for Fish and Game, ORC and the Upper Taieri Wai catchment group.  He is currently the QEII National Trust representative for Coastal Otago. He particularly enjoys working with landowners to protect and enhance waterways.
